Backflow Prevention and RPZ Valve Testing
Intended for commercial kitchens, dental practices, care homes, and garden irrigation systems requiring strict containment of contaminated fluids. We install double check valves, break tanks with air gaps, and commission reduced pressure zone (RPZ) valve devices. The testing verifies differential relief discharge and ensures compliance with South West Water regulations.

Who requires backflow prevention valves?
Any facility with equipment connected directly to water lines that poses risk, such as commercial dishwashers, vehicle wash bays, fire sprinkler feeds, and dental chairs.
How often do RPZ valves need to be retested?
Water undertakers require RPZ valves to be tested and logged on an annual basis by an accredited commissioning technician.
Can you test standard brass double check valves?
Standard domestic double check valves do not have test cocks, but we can verify operation under backpressure or replace worn units.

How We Carry Out Work
-
1
Risk review
We inspect upstream draw-off points and downstream hazards to specify the correct backflow prevention device.
-
2
Installation
The valve is installed horizontally with upstream strainers, test cocks, and unrestricted air-gap tundishes.
-
3
Differential pressure test
Using calibrated three-manifold test kits, we record the opening values of both check valves and relief ports.
-
4
Compliance recording
Test certificates are issued with recorded drop pressures and serial numbers for water undertaker records.
