We isolate supply lines, extract the internal thermostatic mixing cartridge, clean the valve body cavities, and install an OEM-matched replacement cartridge. The shower is then re-calibrated to deliver safe maximum delivery temperatures.

What if the internal housing is cracked rather than worn?
If the brass casing itself is fractured due to stress or freezing, we will stop work, explain the options, and quote for a complete valve replacement.
Is the thermostatic limit safe for young children and elderly residents?
Yes, we set the manual override stop to 38 degrees Celsius and the absolute maximum blend limit to 41 or 43 degrees Celsius using a digital probe.

Hot and cold feeds to the mixer are isolated locally or at the cylinder and storage header.

Trim plate removal
External faceplates and control knobs are extracted cleanly without damaging silicone seals or wall tiles.

Cartridge extraction
The retaining collar is unthreaded and the barrel cartridge is drawn out using dedicated extraction tools.

Re-assembly and calibration
The new cartridge is lubricated with WRAS-approved silicone grease, seated, and set to 41 degrees Celsius.
